Location: The Fullerton Hotel Sydney (summit) and Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (awards gala), Sydney

Date: 12 November 2026, summit from 8am with the awards gala that evening

Architecture & Design runs its Sustainability Summit and Sustainability Awards on the same day in Sydney, Thursday 12 November 2026. The daytime summit is held at the Fullerton Hotel Sydney, with doors from 8am and sessions across two rooms until 3.30pm. The awards gala follows that evening at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia on Circular Quay, marking 20 years of the programme.

Summit sessions include a keynote on passive solar, regenerative and circular design, nature-based solutions for urban resilience, designing for fire in a changing climate, a 12-month review of the NSW Housing Pattern Book and data centre expansion. Speakers include Tone Wheeler of Environa Studio, Amanda Sturgeon of The Biomimicry Institute, Ed Lippmann, Matt Irvine of Snøhetta and Deo Prasad of UNSW. The gala announces winners in 18 categories, with early bird summit tickets 30 per cent off.

Between them the two events put most of Sydney’s sustainability-focused practices in one place for a day, from small residential studios to COX, Grimshaw and Architectus. For architects and interior designers chasing Green Star or NABERS outcomes, the summit sessions are directly relevant to current work.
