The group meets outside New Lynn train station on Clark Street at 10.30am and sets off at 10.45am, with the tour running to about 12pm. Tickets are $10 through Eventbrite.<\/p>\n<p>Mardell is the author of Delirious New Lynn, an eccentric guidebook to his home suburb, and the tour follows its approach, a slow walk with deliberately tongue-in-cheek commentary on everyday places. Stops named on the event page include the library, the Brick Maker&#8217;s Memorial and a gatepost at the corner of Clark Street and Rankin Avenue. The walk coincides with the closing weekend of In the Image of the City at Objectspace.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a counterpoint to the usual tour of award winners, looking instead at the suburban fabric most architects drive past.
