The Los Angeles 2026 edition runs on 5 and 6 November, with the symposium hosted at Central LA Area High School #9 for the Visual and Performing Arts in downtown Los Angeles. The conference is co-chaired by Olin McKenzie and Blake Altshuler of SOM and draws architects, engineers, contractors and facade consultants.<\/p>\n<p>Day one is a full-day symposium of presentations and panels with a Methods and Materials Expo, followed by an awards and cocktail party. Themes include embodied carbon and envelope optimisation, design-assist collaboration, concrete and mass timber, with speakers including Rita Kampalath of the County of Los Angeles and Lucas Epp of StructureCraft. Day two offers classroom-style workshops. Attendees can earn up to 12 AIA HSW CEUs, and qualified architects and engineers can apply for a free VIP symposium pass.<\/p>\n<p>For Los Angeles architects, Facades+ is the one local conference devoted entirely to the building envelope, with the engineers and fabricators who build them in the same room.
