Design Technology Specialist
Global Design Firm is seeking a Design Technology Specialist to join their team and work on a variety of high-profile projects.
About this role
A well-established Manhattan based Architecture firm with projects all over the US and around the world is looking for a Design Technology Specialist to assists with the implementation, maintenance and support of technology related to CAD, BIM, 3D modeling, VR, visualization and related software on a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead BIM processes with project teams. Develop & communicate BIM standards & BIM strategies to project teams. Assist in the development of firm workflows & how-to documentation (Dynamo, Ideate Tools, etc.) Coordinate rendering workflow between applications by working closely with studio staff. Attend staffing meetings to stay up-to-date with staffing assignments & advise on BIM scheduling requirements. Assist Digital Practice Manager with Firm Content Development efforts and Revit training. Develop and present education initiatives including new staff training and continuing education. Provide Revit project support including troubleshooting, training, file maintenance, and content creation. Collectively build and maintain design content including families and documentation standards with the Design Technology team Evaluate new digital tools, BIM/VDC initiatives and workflow methods for firm-wide adoption. Attend relevant AEC virtual and in-person conferences.
- Bachelor degree in Architecture or related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in AutoCAD/Revit production and support. Experience providing technical support on in an AEC environment. Knowledge of commonly-used BIM related concepts and procedures. Ability to prioritize & multi-task. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience teaching others multistep processes related to software. Experience with computation and analysis software (Grasshopper, Dynamo, Python, etc) a plus. Navisworks and SharePoint proficiency is a plus.
