About this role

This is a 2iC role working under a Principal but with a lot of scope for client and design responsibility. Work within a multi-disciplinary practice including architects. The Landscape portfolio includes a diverse range of sectors including Hotels, Education,  Civic, Multi Unit Residential, Adaptive Re-Use,  Commercial and Retail typologies. This role gives  responsibility for quality of design, documentation and  co-ordination  of projects  including management of team resources, program / budgets as well as client relationships. The successful candidate will work within a supportive leadership team and have the mentorship and guidance of a Principal but also the opportunity to shape the future of the landscape team and its future.  

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with bid submissions, the winning of new projects and  maintaining  existing client relationships to achieve repeat business outcomes; 
  • Position and promote the practice as an industry sector leader;
  • Lead design reviews, initiate research on innovation and achieve excellence in  design  outcomes, reporting to the Principal; 
  • Managing clients, consultants and stakeholders through design, documentation and construction; 
  • Managing the resources and skills of Landscape Architects and support staff within the studio and leveraging the services of other practice disciplines;
  • Effectively plan, programme, budget, and coordinate projects;
  • Show initiative in identifying problems and leading solutions throughout the design and construction process; 


Skills and experience

  • A degree in Landscape Architecture and Registration as a Landscape Architect; 
  • Demonstrated experience as a project designer
  • Proven experience in the  design and  delivery  of projects  (public  or private  sectors)  across a range of typologies 
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Landscape Architectural practice
  • Extensive   knowledge of project delivery from Schematic Design to Contract Administration
  • Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
  • An understanding of documentation delivery 
  • Advanced Presentation skills
  • Strong Organisation skills
  • Experience in business development and tender submissions
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a team demonstrating advanced people skills
