This DTLA firm is seeking a passionate Parametric Designer with advanced skills in computational design, especially in Rhino and Grasshopper. This firm specializes in the design and fabrication of challenging facades and structures, and is working on exciting, high-profile local work. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of a growing business that incorporates new technology into the design and construction of buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings, data, and project specifications to ensure projects feasibility
  • Interface with clients
  • Prepare framing designs with minimal oversight
  • Create 3D models and construction documents, including shop drawings, to be used for digital fabrication and construction
  • Coordinate fabrication of building components
  • Help develop the in-house design and fabrication process

Skills and Experience

  • 3-7 years of related experience (training or work experience OK)
  • An accredited degree in Architecture
  • Knowledge of digital design, fabrication, and construction
  • Proficient in 3D software, Rhino and Grasshopper preferred
  • Proficient in programming and coding (i.e. Dynamo, Grasshopper, C#, Python, VB.Net, Java, Processing, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented and focused on quality

Bio: Lily joined Bespoke Careers in July 2018 as a consultant on the architecture team after working in the landscape architecture profession for five years. She worked in a range of landscape firms, including Melendrez (now RELM), Pamela Burton & Co., and Christine London Ltd. Lily studied Art:Semiotics at Brown University in Rhode Island, and then moved back to Southern California to get her Masters of Landscape Architecture at the University of Southern California (USC). She is also the Mentoring Director of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design (AWA+D) in Los Angeles.
