About this role

The Commercial Architecture Studio of an international design firm seeks an experienced industry leader to support the Principal in driving growth and business development as well as lead on select projects. A hybrid role, they are looking for someone with 10+ years of experience working in the commercial sector with the skills to lead and mentor design staff as well as utilize industry connections to generate business and projects. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Studio Management responsibilities leading project teams on commercial projects, including:
    • Project Management
    • Mentoring design staff
    • Project coordination
  • Business Development responsibilities
    • Maintain industry connections
    • Represent the firm at industry networking events and functions
    • Contribute to the growth of the firm by helping to win new work in the commercial studio 

Key Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of project experience in commercial - office, medical, retail (ground-up / no TI), hospitality (ground-up / no TI), healthcare, or science/technology
  • Working knowledge of CAD and Revit
  • Experience in business development with established industry relationships to drive and grow business in the Los Angeles market
  • A bachelors degree or higher in architecture
  • Strong communication skills
  • Registered architect (preferred)

She worked in a range of landscape firms, including Melendrez (now RELM), Pamela Burton & Co., and Christine London Ltd. Lily studied Art:Semiotics at Brown University in Rhode Island, and then moved back to Southern California to get her Masters of Landscape Architecture at the University of Southern California (USC). She is also the Mentoring Director of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design (AWA+D) in Los Angeles.
