About this role


Modern luxury and attention to materiality are at the center of this world class design firm’s hospitality work.  As a key support to the design team the ideal project manager for this role will by hyper organized and skilled with budgeting, value analysis, drawing review and the facilitation of all aspects of the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost analysis, timelines and execution strategies for new projects
  • Generate schedules and keep ongoing budget information from specialist contractors and vendors through design phases assuring compliance with design intent throughout
  • Assist in the development of customized samples on behalf of the design teams
  • Work closely with clients to keep them informed of job progress and to address their potential financial or schedule apprehensions
  • Develop new procedures and strategies for improving construction workflow
  • Possess the ability to mentor the design team with expert technical knowledge and to expedite the resolution of design challenges
  • Perform detailed review of construction documents prior to issuance with the intention of highlighting potential future concerns
  • Provide rapid responses to contractors and vendors queries
  • Process, log, and review all shop drawings and submittals and provide responses and clarifications when necessary
  • Define scopes of work for procurement services and liaise with project coordinators as needed

 

 

Skills and Experience

  • 5-7 year practical work experience and a professional degree in either Interior design, Architecture or a related field
  • Experience in the luxury sector - specifically in hotel hospitality would be a bonus
  • Possess a good working knowledge of NYC building codes, standards and means and methods of construction
  • Ability and tenacity to work both in teams and solo
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and MS Office

After moving to New York in 2004 he worked for Leven Betts and 1100:Architect before beginning his own design consultancy, working on a variety of projects from single family homes to exhibition designs and retail environments. In 2019 Tim joined Bespoke Careers as a consultant on the interiors team, applying his extensive knowledge of the architecture, interior design and construction industries in New York City.
