Practice Manager - Leading Architecture Practice

A leading Architecture practice is seeking a well-rounded Architect with a love of people and collaboration to work as their Practice Manager in a newly-created role. Contribute significantly to the running of the practice, combine your commercial and architectural expertise with your love of people, and choose to work 4 or 5 days per week!

About this role

Our client is a well established Melbourne Architecture practice with a reputation both for striking architecture and a positive and collaborative culture. The Directors have recently identified the need for a Practice Manager to contribute to the effective running of the studio, opening up a wonderful opportunity for either someone already in a similar role, or a well-rounded architect with a love of people who is looking to make the move into practice management. This person will take the practice on as their own “project”, ensuring that all deliverable are met within deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Resource for current and pipeline projects
  • Manage recruitment and workforce planning
  • Monitor projects with architecture team leaders
  • Oversee and monitor project performance
  • Monitor commercial outcomes in line with business objectives
  • HR and recruitment responsibilities when required.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Architecture
  • Experience working within a large practice; either in a project architect or studio management position
  • Commercial approach with the ability to think strategically
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative nature 
  • Ability to lead and solve problems 
  • Capacity to drive and develop others
  • Genuine interest in people and their career development
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Passion for Architecture and a commitment to the design community is essential!
