A global design studio are seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to manage projects for the built environment, with a focus on customer experience and human centred design. Excellent opportunity to apply your creative excellence to the design and delivery of products for interior and exterior environments within the transport, health, education, public realm and cultural sectors.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and/or lead multiple, often complex, design projects from concept to site installation whilst adhering to the scope of works (design briefs, programmes and budgets)
  • Undertake solutions focussed project and user research and develop design briefs with the client team which maximise efficiency and deliver design excellence - the ability to create cohesive and intuitive return briefs through to walking in the shoes of the client, end user, customer, passenger   
  • Produce and supervise the delivery of coherent drawings at conceptual, tender and construction stages. Detailed tender and construction drawings for fabrication and production.      
  • Manage and motivate a team a team of mid-weight and junior designers.
  • Lead client pitches and presentations
  • Lead team through planning, resourcing, budgeting and delivery of a project from inception to installation 

 

Skills and Experience

  • Qualification in Product/Industrial/Spatial Design or related field
  • 10+ years industry experience with established agencies
  • Experience delivering products/projects within the transport, rail, infrastructure or public realm sectors
  • Experience leading and managing large scale projects
  • User centric focus with experience of human centred design
  • A good understanding of Australian regulations and standards for design and construction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Rhino, Revit and Solidworks
