About this role

This growing Australian-owned team designs, imports and wholesales contemporary furniture and homewares. They have offices and showrooms throughout Australia, and their products are also distributed internationally. An opening has come about for an analytical Planner to join their small product team group on a 14-month contract. The successful Planner will have a professional approach and be adept at analysing sales data, liaising with suppliers and across teams, and employing commercial acumen. Add value to the overall growth of the business and recognised for your contribution!  

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and place purchase orders
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure correct information and volume across products
  • Update internal systems with changes to product description, pricing etc.
  • Raise orders for distributors and overseas container sales
  • Provide shipping marks, care instructions and codes to suppliers
  • Oversee the procurement process from order to arrival
  • Analyse sales data and make recommendations for improvements
  • Set season forecasts together with Product Managers
  • Report on inventory and slow moving products
  • Analyse, identify risk and opportunities
  • Provide supplier feedback
  • Provide support to Quality Control and claims

Skills & Experience

  • Relevant degree qualification
  • Previous experience in an operational role for an importer including all procurement, logistics and claims handling
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Detail orientation with the ability to multi-task expertly
  • Ability to demonstrate logic to back up decisions
  • Natural relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
