About this role
A design director or head of design is required for a world-class developer, bridging the construction and concept teams. With a property portfolio of over a billion pounds working across multiple sectors this high-profile developer creates place, community and destinations to for the end user. The projects will bring together local and new residents, workers and visitors.
The role will vary across sectors which will include residential, masterplanning, retail planning, commercial and those with a strong sense of public realm and experiential design for the internals of schemes. The position will involve multiple typologies and sizes at any one time and will bridge concept and construction which will require both strong vision and design, retaining pragmatism of how innovative architecture is built. A strong influencer who understands presenting narratives to the board is key. Construction knowledge is essential to oversee the build phases and London experience is fundamental the successful profile. Consultant management is also essential to the role.
Suitable profiles will be from architects who are in associate director positions (and above) in practice or who have moved over to the client side. This role will suit architects who have a strategic approach, a strong understanding of commercial developments, end-user trends, masterplanning and who can present compelling ideas.
