About this role

This Los Angeles office is seeking an accomplished Senior Designer for their mixed-use and hospitality practice. You will be leading the vision of projects and taking them from inception to reality. This office is looking for someone who knows how to create and fine-tune a hospitality experience for guests, and is expert in fine tuning the operational efficiency of these buildings. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design effort, and client presentations
  • Responsible for the overall Design and coordination of the project team
  • Collaborate with Design Managers and other project team members and design and deliverables
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Resolve complex design issues
  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff
  • Produce graphic presentations
  • Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
  • Participate in firm marketing, industry events, and project interviews
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to plan ahead and meet the project's current and future needs
  • Maintain the goals and objectives of a project
  • Work with the PM to understand internal budget and staff availability

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of related experience, including a minimum of 10 years of demonstrated success as a senior designer on commercial and mixed-use projects
  • Be a motivated self-starter with the ability to solve problems individually and as a part of a larger team
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and building codes
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's in Architecture
  • State licensure a plus

She worked in a range of landscape firms, including Melendrez (now RELM), Pamela Burton & Co., and Christine London Ltd. Lily studied Art:Semiotics at Brown University in Rhode Island, and then moved back to Southern California to get her Masters of Landscape Architecture at the University of Southern California (USC). She is also the Mentoring Director of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design (AWA+D) in Los Angeles.
