Join this team as a Senior Residential FF&E Designer. The position of Senior Residential FF&E Designer will contribute by designing and overseeing the schematic design, design development and project management for high-end residential projects from an creative and FF&E point-of-view. You will be expected to manage all project-related tasks, client meetings and contractor coordination working directly with the Principal Designer and Residential Studio Director, collaborating with fellow studio members, clients, consultants, and artisans. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and realization of project, start to finish
  • Lead team in conceiving of project concept and design to meet client program and project budget constraints
  • Preparing project cost and fee analysis and review project billing
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all contract documents
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of all contract documents including: design presentations, mood boards, 3D Models & views, rendered plans, elevations, and views, specifications and drawings, full set of construction drawings, finish, hardware, & plumbing selection and specifications, FFE selection, custom furniture design and documentation, finish boards and/or boxes, FFE binders
  • Supervise, develop and mentor Designers
  • Review in collaboration with Residential Director all documents to ensure they meet design intent, client’s needs and visions
  • Act as liaison between Principal/Creative Director, Design Director and design team during design process
  • Work with Design Director to review scope, schedule, budget, staffing needs, and project milestones
  • Represent and manage design coordination between clients and consultants
  • Attend site visits and client presentations and coordination meetings
  • Present design presentations to clients and consultants
  • Lead team in performing field visits/measurements and construction administration services including site visits, responding to RFIs, reviewing control samples and shop drawings, coordinating with consultants, manufacturers, and contractors, and completing punch list
  • Observe & communicate trends in the high-end residential market
  • Attend vendor presentations and inform team of new and innovative products
  • Pursue individual professional/skill development
  • Contribute to studio development goals
  • Attend and represent studio at industry events/trade shows as required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8+ years' experience in high-end residential design or proven skill level
  • Strong conceptual design approach
  • Architecture or Interior Design degree, accredited 4yr+ program
  • Proven organizational abilities and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects across various phases
  • Strong experience in management and coordination of construction drawing sets with strong knowledge of construction detailing, materials, methods, and codes
  • Strong experience in management and coordination of FF&E specification deliverables/implementation and available vendor/fabricators
  • Strong experience in the management and implementation of a design concept in a team environment through completion that is on schedule and meets budget and design intent.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SPEXX, Sketch Up, and MS Office
  • Is collaborative, self-motivated, positive, and flexible with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Provides inspiration and motivation for Residential design studio
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be comfortable in interfacing with clients, consultants, vendors and internal staff
