An architecture and design studio in Los Angeles is seeking a Director of Employee Experience to join their office. This role is crucial to support a wonderful team in doing great work and creating a culture of collaboration, creativity and inclusion.The position will oversee operations, programs, and initiatives across the employee lifecycle and all touchpoints in the areas of recruitment and onboarding, talent management, performance, learning and employee development, DEIA, and employee engagement.

The Director will be a significant thought partner and trusted advisor to the firm leadership, management team. It is expected that the Director of Employee Experience will be a committed leader and ambassador and embrace the organizations priorities in shaping all people, talent, and culture work.

Responsibilities

  • Help manage applicant tracking, review resumes, assist with interviews and candidate evaluations
  • Assist with on boarding and provide support and advice to new employees
  • Facilitate staff training and coaching, help with the firm's mentorship program, knowledge sharing and leadership skills
  • Oversee and manage the organizations compensation and total rewards program including related policies, procedures and reporting requirements
  • Ensure that HR infrastructure, systems, processes, and workflow in the areas of onboarding, benefits, payroll, leave management, and HR technologies are implemented proactively, seamlessly, and successfully
  • Champion office culture, facilitate sense of community and support justice, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure transparency, retention and overall employee well-being

Key Skills & Experience

  • Superior leadership, staff management, and collaborative team-building skills
  • Able to balance and shift between vision setting and planning strategic initiatives and hands-on management of day-to-day people operations
  • Stellar written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders, groups, and individuals with diverse points of view
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR practices
  • Bachelors degree required and SHRM certification preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of successful experience leading and directing the HR/People function
  • Experience working in the AEC industry
