Sydney Design Week 2026
Powerhouse's annual design festival returns in September with international keynotes and a programme focused on urban interventions across Sydney.
Location: Powerhouse Ultimo, Sydney
Date: September 2026 (dates to be confirmed)
Sydney Design Week 2026 is presented by the Powerhouse and expected to run across two weeks in September, anchored at the Powerhouse Ultimo campus with programming distributed across multiple city venues. The 2026 edition is anticipated to focus on urban interventions, continuing the festival’s trajectory of engaging architecture, landscape, and infrastructure at the scale of the city.
The programme has in recent years featured keynote addresses from international architects and urban practitioners alongside curated tours, workshops, and film screenings. The 2025 edition featured architectural photographer Iwan Baan and Beijing-based studio Open Architecture; the 2026 speaker programme has not yet been announced.
Now in its thirtieth year, Sydney Design Week represents the most accessible entry point to contemporary design discourse in Australia for practitioners at every career stage. Full programme details will be released closer to the event.
