Sydney Open: Professional Series
Exclusive architecture tours in November led by project architects, with a 2026 focus on adaptive reuse across Sydney's CBD and inner west.
Location: Various architectural sites, Sydney
Date: November 2026
Sydney Open’s Professional Series returns in November 2026, offering ticketed architecture tours led by project architects to recently completed buildings across Sydney. The 2026 programme focuses on adaptive reuse, giving practitioners direct access to buildings that demonstrate contemporary approaches to heritage conversion and industrial transformation across the CBD and inner west.
Tours are structured as technical presentations rather than general public access events, with lead architects discussing material, structural, and programmatic decisions alongside the broader planning and heritage contexts of each project. The format provides a depth of engagement with completed work that is not available through any other programme in the city.
The broader Sydney Open event, presented by the Museum of History NSW, also opens on 2 November 2026, with free public access to a selection of significant buildings across the city. The Professional Series runs as a separate ticketed programme within the same open weekend.
