Designing a Sibling for the Housemuseum – Corbett Lyon

This practice-led session at the Lyon Housemuseum Galleries in Kew features co-founder Corbett Lyon presenting the conceptual development of the Housemuseum Galleries building. The talk draws on original sketches and early design frameworks, offering an insight into the challenges of developing a public-scale building alongside an existing private museum residence.

Lyon will address the spatial and programmatic decisions involved in creating a gallery building that must complement and remain distinct from the Housemuseum it adjoins. The session is organised as an intimate technical briefing, suited to practitioners with an interest in the intersection of private collection, public access and architectural expression.
