Archtober 2026

Archtober is New York’s annual month-long architecture and design festival, running throughout October with a dense programme of tours, talks, exhibitions and public events across the five boroughs. For working practitioners, the central draw is the “Building of the Day” series, which offers technical, architect-led walkthroughs of significant new completions that are rarely accessible outside a structured professional context.

The 2026 programme prioritises mass timber construction and decarbonised retrofits, reflecting the profession’s broader engagement with embodied carbon and adaptive reuse. These tours provide site-level technical access and first-hand accounts of key design and delivery decisions from the architects and engineers involved, making them substantially more useful than published case studies alone.

Archtober is headquartered at the Center for Architecture on LaGuardia Place. Events range from free public programmes to ticketed professional tours; the full October calendar is published at archtober.org ahead of the festival opening.
