AIA|LA Urban Design Review Sessions
A monthly volunteer programme where AIA Los Angeles architects review and provide critical feedback on major proposed projects across the city. Next session: 7 April 2026.
Location: Virtual / Center for Communities, Los Angeles
Date: Monthly (next session 7 April 2026)
The AIA Los Angeles Urban Design Review Sessions are a monthly professional volunteer programme through which architects provide structured critical feedback on newly proposed major development projects across the city. Organised by AIA|LA, the sessions connect the expertise of practising architects directly with the planning and development process, offering both a public benefit and a meaningful professional development opportunity for participants.
Sessions take place both virtually and at the Center for Communities, with presentations from project teams followed by review and commentary from participating architects. The format gives architects direct exposure to the full range of development currently proposed for Los Angeles, from large-scale mixed-use to infrastructure and public realm projects, in a professionally structured context that carries real weight in the review process.
For architects interested in urban design and planning policy, or those looking to broaden their understanding of how major projects are shaped beyond their own practice’s scope, the monthly sessions represent one of the more distinctive ways that AIA Los Angeles facilitates professional engagement with the city. Registration and session dates are available through aialosangeles.org.
