Date: 15 April 2026 — 6pm Welcome Drink, 6:30pm Lecture
The Edinburgh Architectural Association continues its acclaimed EAA Invites series with an evening dedicated to the work of Rintala Eggertsson Architects. Founded by Sami Rintala and Dagur Eggertsson, the Norwegian practice has earned international recognition for a body of work that ranges from intimate architectural installations and furniture design to large-scale public art and urban planning projects — a breadth that speaks to an unusually generous and open understanding of what architecture can be.
Rintala Eggertsson are perhaps best known for their ability to design and build — to engage directly with materials, craft, and the physical realities of making. Their buildings and installations carry a quality of presence that comes from this hands-on sensibility, and their projects often emerge from deep engagement with the specifics of a place and its community. From Scandinavian landscapes to international biennales, their work is defined by an architecture that connects people to their environment in a direct and often poetic way.
The evening takes place at the Edinburgh College of Art Sculpture Court — itself a beautifully considered space — and includes a welcome drink from 6pm before the lecture begins at 6:30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 standard and £5 for students. Booking is via the EAA website.
