Architecture That Gives More Than It Takes: Jon Clements and Rich Naish

Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects presents Jon Clements and Rich Naish in conversation at ASB Waterfront Theatre on Halsey Street, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, on Thursday 5 November 2026. Doors open at 12pm, the talk starts at 12.15pm and a Q&A runs from 1.30pm, with the event finishing at 2pm. It is supported by APL.
Clements is from Australian practice Jackson Clements Burrows and the Australian juror on the 2026 New Zealand Architecture Awards. Naish leads RTA Studio and is the 2026 NZIA Gold Medallist. They’ll discuss the parallels between their practices across the Tasman, with Kevin Ptak moderating questions through Slido, and Naish will sign his Gold Medal book afterwards. Attendance earns 15 NZRAB CPD points for those who register with their NZRAB number and scan their ticket on the day.
The Gold Medal is the Institute’s highest honour and the awards jury sets the bar for the year’s projects, so this is a rare chance to hear both perspectives in one sitting. For Auckland architects it’s also a quick lunchtime CPD top-up before the year ends.
