AIA North Carolina's annual Design and Chapter Awards ceremony at The Cookery in Durham, with drinks from 5.30pm, awards from 6.30pm and a reception to follow

Date: 29 October 2026, from 5.30pm
The AIA North Carolina Design and Chapter Awards is the state chapter’s annual awards ceremony, recognising built work and service to the profession across North Carolina. The 2026 ceremony is on 29 October at The Cookery at 1101 West Chapel Hill Street in Durham. It brings architects and emerging professionals from across the state together for one evening.
Doors open at 5.30pm with drinks and hors d’oeuvres until 6.30pm, the awards run from 6.30pm to 8pm, and a reception follows until 9pm. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite and include two drink tickets, with valet parking provided. Dress is business or business formal, and emerging professionals who need financial assistance to attend can contact the chapter directly.
For architects in Durham and the Triangle, the state awards are the annual benchmark of which North Carolina practices are producing recognised work. The evening is also one of the few points in the year when the chapter’s membership from across the state is in one room.
