Royal Gold Medal 2026 Lecture – Níall McLaughlin

Níall McLaughlin delivers his Royal Gold Medal keynote lecture at the Royal Geographical Society in London on 30 April 2026.

Location: London

Date: 30 April 2026, 6:30pm to 10pm

The Royal Institute of British Architects presents its annual Royal Gold Medal Lecture, this year honouring Níall McLaughlin, an Irish architect whose London-based practice has consistently foregrounded craft, material, and social meaning over three decades. The evening marks the formal presentation of one of architecture's highest honours.

The programme opens at 7pm with the premiere of a newly commissioned documentary celebrating McLaughlin's body of work, followed by a keynote lecture in which the architect reflects on his practice and its guiding principles. British Sign Language interpretation is provided throughout, and a livestream option is available for those unable to travel.

The event takes place at the Ondaatje Theatre, Royal Geographical Society, South Kensington. In-person tickets are £25, with discounted rates for RIBA members and students; livestream access starts at £5.
