Architecture Month Washington DC 2026
A month of intensive professional programming across the District Architecture Center and city-wide venues, including Building of the Day tours and lectures on architecture as civic change.

Architecture Month Washington DC runs throughout April at the District Architecture Center and across city-wide venues, delivering a concentrated programme of professional events, public tours and educational content organised by AIA DC. The month is structured around two recurring formats: the Building of the Day series, which gives practitioners technical access to significant DC buildings on a daily basis, and a lecture programme examining Architecture as a Tool of Change, addressing how buildings and public space contribute to civic life and social outcomes.
The breadth of programming across April makes Architecture Month one of the most professionally active periods in the DC calendar, with events ranging from intimate technical tours of individual buildings to larger public lectures drawing on the city’s concentration of federal, institutional and diplomatic architecture. The District Architecture Center serves as a base throughout the month, with additional events distributed across the city’s 8 wards.
For architects and designers based in or visiting Washington DC during April, the month-long format allows professional engagement at whatever intensity suits a given week, from a single Building of the Day visit to sustained participation across the full programme.
