ASAC Weaving Congress 2026

The Australasian Student Architecture Congress returns to Auckland for a week-long program of conferences, tours, and a making festival built around the theme of weaving — exploring how architecture connects place, space, knowledge, and community.

Location: Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, New Zealand (venue to be announced)

Date: 30 November – 5 December 2026

The Australasian Student Architecture Congress (ASAC) is heading to Auckland for Weaving 2026 — a biennial, student-led event that brings together architecture students and recent graduates from across Australasia to engage with the discipline, foster discourse, and shape its future.

This year’s congress centres on five interconnected ideas: Weaving Place, Weaving Space, Weaving Knowledge, Future(s), and Weaving Connections. Together they frame a six-day program that asks a deceptively profound question — how, in this discipline of architecture, do we weave together? The program includes a conference day with local and international speakers, guided tours of the city, and a two-day festival centred on making and the craft of weaving.

ASAC provides students with opportunities for learning, collaboration, and connection beyond the traditional academic setting. Keep an eye on weaving.nz and Instagram (@weaving_2026) for detailed program updates and speaker announcements. Professional (CPD) tickets will also be available soon. Early bird pricing closes 31 July 2026.
