Online EventDate:
13 June 2025
Description:
Material Circularity – Parlour LAB 37 presents a research-led discussion on the role of upcycled waste in architectural practice. Hosted by Parlour, the session features architects Sofia Colabella and Katie Skillington, both lecturers at the University of Melbourne.
Their conversation will centre on contemporary strategies for integrating waste materials into sustainable construction. Drawing on the [RE]Maker project, the session highlights experimental processes such as prototyping, digital fabrication and material adaptation. This dialogue positions surplus materials not as refuse but as valuable architectural inputs.
The speakers bring academic and practice-based insights to the conversation, exploring how design can address environmental challenges through circular material use.
The event is tailored for built environment professionals interested in sustainable material strategies and architectural research.
