NZ Design Week is a multidisciplinary design festival bringing together architects, designers, makers, and creative professionals from across Aotearoa and internationally. The programme unfolds across a series of curated exhibitions, talks, workshops, and immersive installations that investigate contemporary design practice and its wider cultural context.
The 2026 edition is guided by the theme People + Place, examining how design shapes relationships between communities and the environments they inhabit. Through architectural discourse, spatial installations, product design showcases, and cross-disciplinary discussion, the event explores the role of design in building socially responsive and environmentally conscious futures.
Events are hosted primarily at the NZDW Design Depot at Shed 10 on Auckland’s Queen’s Wharf, with additional partner events taking place across the city. The programme encourages dialogue between disciplines and provides a platform for both emerging and established voices within the design community.
