Tom Sleigh: Getting Things Done
Tom Sleigh, Chairman of the Planning and Transportation Committee for the City of London, presents his vision for the capital at Temple Bar, addressing architecture, sustainability, heritage, and the future of the Square Mile skyline.
Tom Sleigh chairs the Planning and Transportation Committee for the City of London, making him one of the most influential figures shaping what gets built in the Square Mile. Best known recently for chairing the Liverpool Street Station redevelopment discussions and overseeing a record number of scheme approvals in 2025, his talk at Temple Bar offers a rare opportunity to hear directly from the person at the centre of the capital’s most consequential planning decisions.
Sleigh will present his vision for London’s future, with a focus on architecture that lifts the spirit as much as the skyline. He addresses sustainability and heritage as parallel rather than competing concerns, drawing on his experience in planning, his education at Cambridge, a Fulbright scholarship, and senior roles at the BBC and Amazon UK before his work in public life.
Speaker: Sleigh recently chaired the contentious Liverpool Street Station redevelopment discussions and oversaw a record number of scheme approvals in 2025, giving this talk particular relevance for architects and developers active in the City.
The seminar runs for two hours with doors opening at 6:05pm and the talk starting promptly at 6:30pm. Ticket sales close on the morning of 20 April at 11am. Tickets are priced from £6.13, with refunds available up to five days before the event.
