10 DESIGN is an international award-winning practice of architects. The firm works at a broad range of scales, from the design of individual buildings to cities across all sectors including corporate, retail, hospitality, residential, cultural and education. We aspire to create innovative design solutions for multicultural projects, with economic, environmental and social integrity. Embracing global emerging talent is part of 10 DESIGN’s ethos with a team that encompasses more than 27 nationalities, speaking over 30 languages and dialects in four studios in Hong Kong, Edinburgh, Dubai, and Shanghai. That’s a considerable cultural advantage in today’s shrinking world.

Located in Wanchai, Hong Kong, the brightly lit, open-plan studio reflects 10 DESIGN’s culture. The workplace is designed to facilitate collaborations amongst architects and designers with flexibility and transparency at the forefront. Everyone can enjoy the views outside the windows from anywhere in the studio. Hierarchy, tenure, and seniority are not factors in the studio’s philosophy. There are no cellular offices for senior staff. On the contrary, planning for flexible work zones to foster collaborations is the key driver of its design.

To encourage a work-life balance, the practice allows ample space for recreational activities including pool, football and table tennis for all staff to socialise, relax and have fun. 10 DESIGN’s Hong Kong studio is also in close proximity to a chic new neighbourhood (Queen’s Road East) for cafés, bars and restaurants, wellness spa and gyms, and emerging retail brands. This newly regenerated district is still evolving with new shops and outlets popping up, offering an energetic and vibrant lifestyle on the studio’s doorstep.

Beyond work, 10 DESIGN’s annual art launch, which coincides with the Hong Kong Art Basel calendar, supports the work of local young artists with hundreds of guests from the art community attending each year. Other social events include architecture tours and lecture visits, pool and ping-pong competitions, dragon boat races, running clubs, annual beach parties, as well as Christmas and Chinese New Year celebrations.
