MPavilion 12: MTalks Series
MPavilion 12 launches a season of engineering-focused MTalks panels on structural performance and temporary public architecture in Melbourne.
Location: Queen Victoria Gardens, Melbourne
Date: November 2026 to March 2027
MPavilion is the annual temporary structure commissioned for Queen Victoria Gardens in Melbourne, remaining in place for a full season of public programming. The current Tadao Ando pavilion remains on site until 2030, and the 2026 season introduces MPavilion 12’s curated MTalks series as its primary programme for architecture and design professionals.
The MTalks for 2026 focus on structural performance in temporary public architecture, with panels drawing on the expertise of engineers and project delivery teams from AECOM and Kane Constructions. Conversations are expected to address the technical challenges of designing and building demountable public structures, with particular reference to the Ando pavilion’s delivery and its long-term performance in a public garden setting.
The MTalks series runs from November 2026 through March 2027 at Queen Victoria Gardens on St Kilda Road. All events are free to attend; individual talk dates and programme details are published at mpavilion.org ahead of the season opening.
