AIA Los Angeles' annual awards night at the Petersen Automotive Museum, honouring built work through the Design Awards and unbuilt work through the Next LA Awards

Date: 27 October 2026, from 5.45pm
The AIA|LA Design Awards is the annual awards ceremony of the American Institute of Architects Los Angeles chapter. The 2026 ceremony is on 27 October at the Petersen Automotive Museum at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard, from 5.45pm to 10pm. It brings together the architects, interior designers, clients and consultants behind the year’s shortlisted projects across the Los Angeles region.
The evening honours work in two groups, the Design Awards for built projects and the Next LA Awards for unbuilt work. Tickets are sold in advance only and sales close at 5pm on 26 October. Late rate tickets are $455 for AIA members and $495 for non-members, with a $355 rate for Associate members limited to one ticket each. Onsite parking is $20 per car.
The awards are the clearest annual snapshot of which Los Angeles practices are producing the strongest built and speculative work. For architects and interior designers in the city, the ceremony is also one of the few nights when most of the local profession is in the same building.
