Auckland Architecture Awards 2026
The NZIA Auckland Awards highlight the best in commercial, heritage and residential practice across the region, with shortlisted entries currently under review for the June ceremony.
Location: Auckland (venue to be confirmed)
Date: 18 June 2026
The Auckland Architecture Awards are the New Zealand Institute of Architects’ annual recognition of excellence in the Auckland region, presented at a ceremony on 18 June 2026. Shortlisted entries are currently under review, with the jury examining projects across commercial, heritage and residential categories as well as a range of special awards recognising work of particular significance to Auckland’s built environment.
The awards draw on projects completed or substantially progressed over the preceding 12 months, capturing the current state of architectural practice in New Zealand’s largest and most densely developed city. The judging process examines design quality, contextual response, sustainability performance and the ways in which each project contributes to the character and functionality of the Auckland urban environment.
Winners of the Auckland Architecture Awards progress to the NZIA National Awards, with the national programme recognising the best of New Zealand’s architectural output across the country. For practices active in Auckland, the regional awards represent the primary peer-reviewed recognition available locally, with shortlisting and winning carrying substantial professional and commercial weight.
