Mel Chin delivers the 2025 Wendy Evans Joseph Lecture on Art and Architecture, presented by The Architectural League of New York. The lecture highlights artists engaging with architectural space and the human impact on the environment. Known for his collaborative and interdisciplinary approach, Chin’s work often bridges conceptual art, ecological intervention, and public engagement. His projects span site-specific remediation efforts, media-based installations, and large-scale participatory initiatives.
The evening includes a post-lecture conversation with architect Tei Carpenter, addressing shared concerns around civic responsibility and material futures in art and design. This dialogue will explore how both disciplines engage communities and confront urgent cultural and environmental issues. The event concludes with a public Q&A session.
