Now in its ninth year, Sydney Craft Week is the only festival in the city solely dedicated to handmade practice. Led by the Australian Design Centre, the ten‑day festival invites participation across workshops, exhibitions, markets and open studios spanning textiles, ceramics, woodwork, jewellery and glass. Its citywide programme includes artist talks, retail showcases and live demonstrations delivered by a broad network of galleries, shops, cultural institutions and independent makers. The 2025 theme and programme details are to be announced, but the festival continues to offer free and ticketed events focused on celebrating material culture, skilled processes and community connection. Sydney Craft Week encourages a deeper public appreciation of the value and role of craft in contemporary life.
