Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2027
Five-day flower and garden show at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, Melbourne, with designer show gardens and a landscape design competition
Location: Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, Melbourne
Date: 17 March 2027 to 21 March 2027
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show runs from 17 to 21 March 2027 at the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens, Melbourne. The five-day show combines a floral exhibition inside the Royal Exhibition Building with show gardens built across Carlton Gardens, and draws landscape architects, garden designers, horticulturalists and a large public audience.
The Show Garden programme presents large gardens designed and built by landscape designers, landscapers and horticulturalists as part of the show’s landscape design competition. Other features include the Great Hall of Flowers, an Indigenous Garden, the Emergent Designer Gardens for early-career designers, an art exhibition and a high tea presented by Pukka. Tickets are not yet on sale, and competition and exhibitor applications for 2027 are open through the show’s website.
For landscape architects in Melbourne the show gardens are the most visible public test of design ideas each year, and the Emergent Designer Gardens give early-career practitioners a built project in front of a large audience. It is also one of the few events where landscape design reaches a broad public.
