Location:
Clarendon Auditorium, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, 2 Clarendon Street, South Wharf, VIC 3006, Australia
Date:
21 November 2025
The Architecture Symposium: Indigenising our built environment brings together First Nations architects, academics and practitioners to explore how Indigenous knowledge systems are transforming the architectural landscape. This focused program reflects on built projects that embed cultural narratives and collaborative design processes, honouring the deep connection between people and Country.
The event examines how Indigenous-led design is shifting the Western architectural paradigm, foregrounding principles of respect, reciprocity and responsibility. Through case studies and discussion, the symposium considers the progression of this movement and identifies future pathways for genuine inclusion within architectural practice.
Presented as part of the Design Speaks series by Architecture Media, the symposium is supported by Bondor Metecno, Vicostone and Planned Cover, with Ovolo South Yarra as the hotel partner.
